Overview
Energy plays a vital role in the growth of a country and influences economic and social activities around the globe. Energy cost affects not only industries with large energy consumption but also the cost of living of citizens.
Department of Energy Engineering Technology at University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera is newly established department according to the modern necessities and requirements. Our students are facilitated with the latest course contents and the state of the art equipment so that they can efficiently compete in the upcoming modern technologies era. Energy Engineering department has the highly qualified and skilled faculty members who can train the students in this latest era of technology.
Program description
Energy has been the main element in the development of a country and therefore its demand is on continuous rise throughout the world. The growing energy demand has resulted in many problems such as Global warming, pollution and the most dangerous is the depletion of conventional energy resources. These problems can be eliminated by shifting to new energy resources i.e. renewable energy including solar photovoltaic, wind, biomass, solar heating and cooling, hydel power etc. Advanced countries around the globe such as United States, Germany, Australia and China have 20-20-20 plan which means that till year 2020 they have to fulfill their 20% energy demand from renewable energy resources and have to decrease the emission of greenhouse toxic gases by 20% from the fossil fuel plants. The growing economy of Pakistan demands more energy resources and experts in this field but unfortunately energy experts are scarce as compared to their requirement.
Department of Energy Engineering Technology at UoT Nowshera will try to fulfill the demand of energy technologist in Pakistan. The department is currently offering BSc Energy Engineering Technology. The program is designed such that our students will not only fulfill the needs of our local industry but can also be able to fit in global industry and accept the future challenges in the area of energy engineering technology.
