One Day OBE/QOBE training workshop on 1st September, 2023
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at the University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera organized a "One-day Outcome-Based Education (OBE)/QOBE Training Workshop" at UoT Nowshera on September 1, 2023. Dr. Arbad Waheed Ahmad, the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the designated OBE focal person for the institute, Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) Pakistan, served as the focal person for this training workshop.
The workshop witnessed the participation of both full-time and visiting faculty members. The event was divided into two distinct sessions. The first session primarily addressed topics related to Outcome-Based Education (OBE), while the second session placed its main emphasis on training faculty in the use of the Quality Outcome-Based Education (QOBE) software.
During the training, faculty members were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills pertaining to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices, particularly in relation to Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) assessment cycles. The entire workshop was characterized by its informative and interactive nature, resulting in an enhanced level of knowledge and proficiency among the participating faculty members.
QEC University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera attended a training session on Self-Assessment Reports (SARs)
Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera attended a training session on Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) organized by CECOS University Peshawar on Wednesday, 21st June 2023. The session was led by Ms. Mahwish Asmatullah, Deputy Director QEC at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University. The training equipped participants with practical skills to contribute effectively to SAR preparation, leading to improved program outcomes and institutional excellence.
One Day NTC/HEC PEV Training at University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera on 29th May 2023
One Day NTC Program Evaluators Training organized on Monday, 29th May 2023 at University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera. More then 30 participants from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities, DAIs and Technical Colleges participated in the training. Engr. Imtiaz Hussan Gillani Chairman National Technology Council was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Vice Chancellor UoT Nowshera thanked NTC/HEC for organizing this training at UoT Nowshera. He also appreciated the Resource Person Prof. Dr. Anwar khitab, Dean, Mirpur University of Science and Technology, AJK and all the participants. The Chief guest and Vice Chancellor distributed certificates among all the participants.
Institutional Performance Evaluation Self Visit (2022-2023)
Institutional Performance Evaluation Self Visit (2022-2023), Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology Nowshera, KP, Pakistan was held on 18th to 20th April 2023. Dr. Naveed Jan, Director QEC, UoT Nowshera organized the mentioned event successfully. Following were the members of IPE Self Visit.

2. Dr. Sohail Imran Saeed – HoD, Iqra National University Peshawar (External Member)
3. Dr. Haider Ali – HoD, UoT Nowshera (Internal Member)
The visitation team reviewed Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) based on eleven IPE Standards: Mission and Goals, Planning and Evaluation, Organization and Governance, Integrity, Faculty, Student, Institutional Resources, Academic Programs and Curricula, Public Disclosure & Transparency, Assessment and Quality Assurance and Students Support Services.
Such Evaluations help an institution to further improve the quality in different domains. The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Zaffar M. Khan appreciated the efforts of QEC in organizing a self-IPE visit in a well-mannered way.
Seminar on "Facilitation of QEC and Preparation for Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE)" on 10 April, 2023
A seminar was conducted on "Facilitation of QEC and Preparation for Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE)" on 10 April 2023. The focal person for the seminar was Dr. Naveed Jan (Director QEC) and all QEC members attended.
The Director QEC explained the entire procedure of IPE, including the preparation of the University Performance Report (UPR) and how to answer the questions with proper evidence. The members were also encouraged to give their feedback on the quality of various survey forms used by QEC.
During the seminar, the members were given an opportunity to discuss and ask questions about the evaluation process. They were also briefed on the importance of transparency, objectivity, and fairness in the evaluation process.
Interactive Hands-on Training Session on QOBE Software on 6th April 2023
Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) on 6th April 2023, conducted an interactive hands-on training session on our QOBE software for the entire faculty of the university. Director QEC, Dr. Naveed Jan welcomed all the participants. Mr. Tuheed ur Rehman (Assistant Director QEC) and Dr. Abid Haider (chairman IT committee) were the focal persons for the training. During the session, all the functionalities of the software were discussed in detail, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of how to use the platform to its fullest potential. The training was designed to be highly interactive, allowing participants to engage with the software directly and ask questions in real-time. Overall, the session was a great success, and we received positive feedback from attendees about the value and usefulness of the training. We believe that the training has equipped the faculty with the skills and knowledge they need to fully utilize our OBE software and enhance the quality of education at the university.
Q-OBE Software Training For Faculty and Staff on 06 Feb 2023
QEC UoT Nowshera has arranged a training session on the newly adopted Q-OBE software for outcome-based education on 06 Feb 2023. The faculty and staff participated in a training session on the adoption of Q-OBE software. The aim of the session was to familiarize the participants with the new software and provide them with the tools and resources needed to effectively integrate it into their teaching practices. The adoption of this software is expected to enhance the university's efforts to promote outcome-based education and support student success.
Overall, the training was well-received by the attendees and provided valuable insights into the Q-OBE framework. The training ended with a Q&A session where the attendees were able to clear any doubts they had and receive guidance on how to put their newfound knowledge into practice.
With the help of this software, UoT Nowshera reached yet another milestone in the direction of technological digitalization.
Seminar on Learning Management System (LMS) on 7th December 2022
Quality Enhancement Cell UoT Nowshera has arranged a seminar on Learning Management System (LMS) to maintain and improve Quality of Education using OBE (Outcome Based Education) on 7th December 2022 at UoT Nowshera.. . The focal person Mr. Muazzam Arsalan Bhatti, CEO Alfoze explained the features and interface of QOBE software. The Vice Chancellor, Director QEC, HoDs and faculty members were present in the mentioned session.
Mock Visit of all Six Departments on 16th November 2022
Prior to the National Technology Council (NTC) accreditation visit, a comprehensive mock visit was conducted for all six teaching departments to ensure the thoroughness of their course folders, self-assessment reports, and other requirements. Dr. Salman Ahmed, a distinguished academician from UET Peshawar, was invited to serve as the focal person for this crucial task.
Under Dr. Salman's expert guidance, the mock visit was conducted with meticulous attention to detail. The course folders and self-assessment reports of each department were thoroughly reviewed, and Dr. Salman expressed his satisfaction with the preparations. His valuable feedback and insights were highly appreciated by the faculty and administration alike.
Two-days OBE Workshop at UoT Nowshera on 6th and 7th September, 2022
Two days workshop on OBE was successfully conducted at University of Technology Nowshera on 6th and 7th September, 2022 by QEC UoT. This workshop helped faculty members to understand the program & course design process using OBE approach and develop program specs & lessons plans more effectively. The workshop was comprised of introduction to OBE, learning objectives, outcomes & their assessment, course folder preparation and finally end-of-the training quiz.
Teachers Training Workshop on Microteaching (19-20 April 2018)
Two-Days Teacher Training Workshop on Microteaching was held on 19-20 April, 2018 under the umbrella of Quality Enhancement Cell. The Director QEC, Dr. Amjad Ali was the organizer and the internal resource person.
Mr. Naseem Ullah, Assistant Professor, Abasyn University Peshawar was the guest resource person. Both the resource persons are the HEC Master Trainers in Faculty Development Professional Program (MT-FDPP).
All the Assistant Professors and lecturers of UoT Nowshera and two faculty members each from Women University Mardan, Northern University Nowshera and Post Graduate College Nowshera were the participants of the Workshop.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Qamar Ul Wahab was the chief guest in the opening ceremony and the Registrar Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood distributed the certificates among the participants and presented shields to the resource persons in the closing ceremony of the workshop.
Allama Iqbal Bi-lingual Declamation Contest ( 02 May 2018)
"Allama Iqbal Bi-lingual Declamation Contest" was held on 02 May 2018 in the UoT Auditorium.
The honorable vice chancellor was the chief guest at the occasion.
Mr. Bilal Aziz Lecturer Electronics Technology was the chief organizer of the contest held under the umbrella of QEC Uot.
The jury consisted of 5 faculty members, headed by the Director QEC Dr. Amjad Ali.
Total 13 students participated in the declamation contest and Rs. 5000, 3000 and 2000 were distributed among
1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder respectively, each in Urdu and English Declamation Contest.

One Day Seminar on LMS Software (3rd May 2018)
A one day seminar on “Learning Management System (LMS) Software was organized by Quality Enhancement Cell on Thursday 3rd May 2018.
The resource person of the seminar was Mr. Syed Rafaqat Ali, the Director Data and Communication (DNC), Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar,
The targeted participants of the seminar were the QEC and IT officials of the university.
The main aim of the activity was to have a highly interactive session between resource person and the participants towards the implementation of LMS in UoT and to operationalize student portal for online feedback mechanism which is necessary for quality measurement and enhancement as per vision of honorable vice chancellor UoT Prof. Dr. Qamar ul Wahab and directives of quality assurance division HEC.
Two Days Activity for the HEADS of QECs
Organized by Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Commission (10th & 11th May, 2018)
Dr. Amjad Ali, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), participated in 02 days activity scheduled for the HEADS of QECs on 10th & 11th May, 2018 at Margalla Hotel, Islamabad by Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of Higher Education Commission which is striving for the implementation of the QA standards and criteria.
The key objective of the event was to review the QEC progress at the universities and further strengthen the Quality Assurance System through Internal Quality Assurance Mechanism and External Quality Assurance Mechanism.
Dr Amjad presented the QEC progress and activities carried out at UoT Nowshera and the targets to the cell for the FY 2018-19 were assigned by the QAA officials at the occasion regarding the quality enhancement at UoT Nowshera.
One day Seminar on OBE & OBA (21 February 2020)
One day seminar on Outcome-Based Education OBE and Outcome-Based Assessment was held on 21-02-2020 under the umbrella of Quality Enhancement Cell.
Dr. Sikandar Bilal from Industries Department UET Peshawar was the resource person. All the faculty members at UoT were the participants. The main aim was to introduce and provide insight to UoT faculty members on OBE and OBA. The assessment methodology and international practices in this regard were discussed in length.
