Nowshera, June 14, 2024 – The University of Technology Nowshera convened its 17th Syndicate Meeting, chaired by the Vice-chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Imran Khan. The meeting brought together distinguished members, including Justice (Retired) Muhammad Nasir Mahfooz, nominee of the Peshawar High Court, and Dr. Jamil Ahmad, nominee of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Key decisions were made during this pivotal meeting. The Syndicate approved the university’s budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, ensuring that financial resources are allocated to support the institution’s growth and development. Significant academic advancements were also made, with the endorsement of recommendations from the 9th and 10th Academic Council meetings.

The meeting approved the sanctioning of new academic programs, broadening the university’s academic offerings to include a Bachelor of Computer Sciences, an MS in Electrical Engineering Technology, and an MS in Computer Science. These programs are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in rapidly evolving technological fields. Furthermore, the Syndicate mandated the inclusion of a Quran Studies course as a degree requirement. This decision underscores the university’s commitment to integrating cultural and religious studies into its curriculum.
